            artist profile

Chrisitine Soccio, in the last few years, has moved away from her work as an art director and focused more seriously on personal expression as a fine artist creating abstracts. Christine has a BFA from the School of Visual Arts, NYC, which brought her a successful career in Graphic Design. While at school, she continued to take fine art classes in addition to her design studies.

In the face of some heartbreaking personal challenges, Christine turned to painting, a creative journey that she abandoned 16 years ago. Christine is eternally grateful that painting helped her recognize who she is and what she was meant to do. For the last several years, Christine has been successfully selling her paintings online and in private shows.

            my painting style

"I let my intuitive-self take over. Within it, I follow my most sincere emotional state into a realm of honest expression, through use of composition and color. Some of my influences are Joan Mitchell, Rothko and Van Gogh.

Because of my urgency to create, I feel most comfortable working with acrylics. The versatile characteristics of the medium allow me to keep moving at a pace that parallels the changing moods that flow through me as I paint.

It is my hope that the viewer connects to a deeper place within themselves, finding my emotive world of color and texture a catharsis, and a catalyst for positive change in their own lives."
